- Sep. 2024 – Present: Sales Assistant @ Decathlon Netherlands B.V.
- Worked on the fitness-running department. Got valuable experience navigating team and store-wide dynamics, keeping the workdays fun and light while maintaining a customer-first mentality, and mentoring new teammates. Made permanent with a 16-hour contract after a 2 year trial period, and made some awesome friends along the way.
- Oct. 2019 – Feb. 2022: Postman @ PostNL
- 6-hour contract; I was responsible for Saturday post delivery in postcodes starting with 3723L and 3723E. Reliability, timeliness and efficiency.
Experiences
- Selected portfolio work (Ongoing)
- C++ Renderer (Ongoing): Developing a C++ software renderer for visualising algebraic varieties projected into the affine space.
- Applied SVI Project (March 2025): Contributed to an applied report for Scientific Volume Imaging B.V. with 8 other master’s students. We focused on reconstructing lifetimes from fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy data (reconstructing exponential distributions pixel-wise from histogram data).
- Numerical Analysis (Ongoing): I’m working through Numerical Analysis: A Graduate Course. Also learning C++ by implementing algorithms from this book, solving Project Euler problems and developing portfolio pieces.
- Private Mathematics Tutor (Ongoing): Preparing a final-year VWO student for his mathematics exams.
- Seminar Talk (May 2025) Delivered a 90-minute seminar talk for the Topos Theory Student Seminar on Grothendieck’s Galois Theory and wrote a set of accompanying LaTeX notes.
